You might think “autoresponder software” sounds pretty boring, but actually you’re probably using it right now. And there’s a lot more to it than generating bland emails.
We’ve all received those “auto” messages from webpages when we leave our details on them. Typically we’re prompted to do this via a link on the page. That’s auto-responder software at work. But it does more than that. A good auto-responder program will:
- Capture customer information (e.g. such as how many of those signing up to a site respond to the site’s various marketing campaigns).
- “Follow-up” potential customers: that is, it can be tailored to prompt potential customers, who may not wish to buy products from your site straight away, to make purchases later on.
- Assist internet marketers to build their customer lists and organise their email campaigns.
And all of this is good news as it frees up internet marketers to focus on higher value tasks – build their customer lists and organise their email campaigns.
