Back Pain is a major health problem, which nearly 4 out of 5 people experience at some time in their lives. There are different types of back pain, and diagnosing the type and its cause is the first step in the treatment process.
One of the more serious types of back pain is stenosis of the spine. Spinal stenosis can affect different areas of your body, but basically it’s the result of a calcification of the spinal canal that results in the spinal cord coming into contact with some portion of the narrowed spinal canal. And when the spinal cord is touched, major pain is the result.
The first step in stenosis treatment is determining the location and extent of the damage. Of course, you’ll need to meet with a specialist to do some tests. Only after that can a proper rehabilitation program be developed.
