Anybody can quite easily create a website. There are thousands of free web site templates which can be downloaded within minutes, and content added at a pace to suit you. Of course, if you have the content prepared before hand, the site itself could be up and running in no time at all.

If you want the site as a place of reference for your family to catch up with what’s going on in your life for example, this kind of site would be more than adequate.

Similarly, it would be sufficient to send readers of your off-line advertisements. My wife runs a bed and breakfast from our home, and she places adverts in specific publications where she knows the readers are likely to be her customers. Contained within the ads is the address (URL) of her website, which gives visitors the opportunity to take a detailed look at the accommodation she offers.

However, if you were interested in creating your own website and driving free search engine traffic (visitors) as a basis for your business, it requires a little more planning and a lot more work. You also have to know what is involved in creating such a website.

In order to have a successful online website business you would ensure you have the best website idea; you might want to consider developing your site around your hobby, passion or life experiences (your occupation perhaps). This would require researching keywords which are related to your website concept. You will require keywords, keyword terms and subject material with high yielding profit potential.
