Flying or Flight, It’s All The Same
Leather flying jackets are authentic flight jackets tried, tested and approved by the Army Air Corps as regulation wear. There are still two types of these authentic flying jackets which are called the A2 and the G1. Not only is the leather flying jacket popular in the Army Air Corps but the average Joe or Jane gets to enjoy them too.
A2 Flight jackets were first tested back in 1930, and then were adopted as regulation jackets in 1931. The A2 Flight jacket is normally made out of goatskin and of course comes in many sizes. Did you know that the original A2 Flight Jackets did not come with side pockets nor inside wallet pockets.
The A2 has been altered over the years so as civilians and pilots can get more comfort out of it. Some manufactures are now offering different varieties of the old A2′s with all kinds of pockets the original jacket never had.
