Natural Remedies For Menopause

This article discusses one of the many symptoms of menopause, which is lowered metabolism, and how to address this issue.

If you suffer from lowered metabolism due to menopause, or any of the 34 symptoms of menopause, you’ll be relieved to know that there are natural remedies for menopause that can reduce the symptoms you may be experiencing.

One of the complaints that I often hear from women who are going through menopause is the fact that they are having a difficult time keeping their weight off. There are a number of different reasons why this may be the case, but the fact that the estrogen level and progesterone levels of a woman’s body are lowering rapidly is enough to lower their metabolism right along with it. Where a woman might have had a great metabolism before entering into menopause, she may now be experiencing low metabolism which will make it very difficult for her to burn off any food that she is eating.

There are a few things that can be done to help to raise your metabolism during this time in your life. You may also need to adjust the amount of food that you are eating in order to compensate for the lower metabolism that you are experiencing. Something that many women have found to be very effective during this time is to exercise regularly. Exercising on a regular basis will help you to boost your metabolism considerably, perhaps even bringing it back into line with where it was before you entered into this time of your life. There is a certain type of exercising that you can do, however, which will greatly increase the benefits that you will receive.

The type of exercising that I’m talking about is doing interval training in a number of different ways. If you enjoy doing cardiovascular exercise, you can use that exact type of exercise that you are going and do intervals in order to boost your metabolism quickly. Begin by going hard for a period of time, usually anywhere from 30 seconds to two minutes. You should then the rest or go about the same exercise at a lower pace for the same period of time or perhaps a bit longer. This has the benefit of raising your metabolism and keeping it up for the entire day.

One other thing that you can do which will help to boost your metabolism greatly is to add a lean muscle mass to your body. Whenever you work out, concentrate on building the muscles in your legs as this will add your metabolism very quickly. Remember, for every pound of body weight that you have on your body you are going to burn 60 calories every single day without any extra effort. Imagine what could be done if you add a few pounds of muscle.

Menopause is defined as that time in a woman’s life where she ceases to produce eggs. This is one part of the definition of menopause. As you can imagine, there are a lot of changes going on within a woman’s body at this time, and with these changes are some symptoms of menopause. The good news is that there are proven, time-tested natural remedies for menopause that can reduce the symptoms of menopause.
