There are a great many questions that a person interested in the modeling industry might have, but perhaps the most often asked question is what do I need in a model portfolio?
If you were looking for an easy and a very general answer, then that answer would be photos. However, it is likely that you already know that, so the real question would be what kind of photos should you use if you are looking to create a models portfolio.
The real answer to your question could best be answered by breaking down the type of photos you will need in certain categories. A portfolio will generally need a head shot, which is often called a beauty shot.
A good rule of thumb is to go with a color photo but you can also add a black and white photo to keep things interesting. A full figure photo is good. This is time to pose in a bikini or lingerie if you wish, which is traditional attire for these shots, but fully clothed alternatives have grown in popularity today as well.
Then you will need some fashion shots, casual shots, business shots, and of course a few artistic shots to round things out.
