Outsourcing Drawbacks

Outsourcing is all the rage these days, it seems. Businesses believe they are doing themselves a lot of good by having other companies, like this Dutch company with their buitenlandse arbeidskrachten, do large segments of their work for them. Payroll is done by an external accounting firm. The computer networks and help desks are run by another company. Human Resources is handled by yet another business, and all the records are taken care of by a document management firm.

The few actual employees who remain are told by management that this situation can only maximize their own profits, since all this outsourcing is said to save the company millions of dollars.

But before leaping so fully into outsourcing, you need to think of some factors on the other side of the equation. While sending work to an external company can benefit your business, there are potential drawbacks as well. To make a wise decision about outsourcing, you must consider both the pros and cons. It might not be the solution for everybody.
