I think most parents often times have a difficult time trying to spot problems with troubled teens. First off, there really are no certain standards, but if you start to notice that things are changing for the worse, then that is a sign that your teenager could be having teen trouble. It can sometimes be quite hard to see the friends that your teen hangs out with especially when you feel that they are not in your child’s best interest. If you start to see that he is changing friends, especially with ones that you don’t feel comfortable with and stops hanging out with friends that he has had for several years, then that might be a sign of trouble ahead. If you start to notice a pattern of lies, then you should be concerned or if he happens to have lots of money and has no explanation of how he got the money. If you get a call from his school indicating that he has missed several days of class, then that could be yet another sign of teen trouble.
Well, there you have a few signs on how to spot problems with troubled teens. Hopefully, they will help you a bit with trying to deal with your teen. I think you should consider going online and looking around for lots more information about troubled teens. You should be able to find some good teen programs that can help you and your teen over come any issues that you are both facing.
