Top Toys for Christmas 2009, Why does Demand Outstrip Supply?

Christmas is fast approaching, all the Children will have their list for santa & us parents will be rushing around trying to find the toys they have asked for so as not to dissapoint,it seems every year some of the most popular toys are in short supply at Christmas,

Whilst searching around for boys toys on my sons list I discovered a report from the toy retailers association on the most wanted toys for Christmas 2009, this include general toys, most poular girls toys and best boys toys the reading was very interesting, I am not sure how they compile such a list and how they know just which toys are going to be popular but many of the items on the list match the gifts my son has aked Father Christmas to deliver him,

After more surfing I dicovered that indeed they are correct and with still over a month to go until the big day some of these toys are in short demand already, Zhu Zhu pets hamsters or sometimes called Go Go pets hamsters have already sold out in many stores, my son has these on his list and lucky enough I have managed to find them online,

Last year I seem to remember the Nintendo Wii was almost impossible to obtain, this Games console is still very popular so I wonder if it will be the same story for 2009, Children seem to follow the lastest craze as in Transformers, another popular gift for this year and in short supply seems to be the Screature Dinosaur, whenever a new movie is released there is a huge demand for the toys that relate to the craze, a thought for the Toy manufacturers and the toy retail association, Why do they not get together and discuss the top toys for the coming Christmas and produce more, even if they over produce they will sell throughout the year and this way Christmas and the rush to find the most popular toys on our childrens lists is less fraught for us parents and less dissapointed Children on Christmas Day.
