I was going through some old sites and thought I gather a quick list of web design tips to consider when your creating your website or looking to make it more search engines optimized.
First, when creating your site in CSS or cascade styling sheets, make sure that you use external coding. This is fairly basic, but having all the internal coding on each of every website page can make the page larger than it has to be and you want the search engines to spider or crawl your site as much as possible so that the pages are indexed with all the keywords.
Second, use search engine friendly urls for each page like this Cincinnati based SEO service called Pixels and Dots Web Design does for each of their important pages. If you look at it, all of their page titles, anchor text, and URL structure are based on a focused set of keywords to be ranked for.
Third, have a good site structure which places your content as high as possible so that the search engines spider or robot can see all your content and keywords right away. This will help get the most content indexed in the search engines.
Fourth, make sure you have a title tag in each of your web pages and no two are completely similar. Too often, I see a small site with a title say “untitled document”.
Fifth, make sure you have a meta description tag in the header on the content to go along with the title tag of each page. Again, make sure that each is a completely unique and descriptive set of sentences.
